Lambano Healthcare - Private Sub-Acute Facility is Coming Soon!

Nkosi arrived at Lambano facing an uphill battle with severe breathing difficulties. The lack of early intervention had caused significant damage to his brain, resulting in Cerebral Palsy. Mama Lyn, Lambano’s co-founder, recalls, “We nearly lost Nkosi twice – his breathing was so fragile.”

Cerebral Palsy affects a child’s ability to control their muscles, maintain balance, and coordinate movement. It can lead to muscle stiffness, low muscle tone, involuntary movements, and challenges with balance. Yet despite these obstacles, Nkosi’s spirit remained unshaken. The Lambano staff affectionately called him “Mr Congeniality” because he never stopped smiling.

Throughout his therapeutic interventions, Nkosi carried joy, laughter, and an incredible determination. “Nkosi would force himself and his fragile legs onto a jumping castle and burst out laughing as he lost his balance,” says Lyn Croote.

Today, Nkosi still refuses to give up. While he once dreamed of becoming a professional rugby player, he has found his passion in wheelchair rugby and in creating content that celebrates school and club rugby. His talent and drive have opened exciting doors, including opportunities with Vodacom URC and SuperSportSchools.

We couldn’t be more proud of him.

Nkosi The Rugby Guy in partnership with Sport For Lives & Lambano Sanctuary

Nkosi has a dream to create a short film documenting School Boy Rugby. The focus would be delving into the history and lessons learnt over the years, by participating schools. Nkosi intends to visit School Rugby games over weekends, both as a commentator & documentary host. Each school who intends to participate in the School Boy Rugby Documentary, has a criteria to follow. Our schedule permits for a total of 10 school's games in aid of Lambano Sanctuary & the processing of a short-film. To enter, download criteria here:
